A few words on Jackie Kennedy’s style:
Oleg Cassini was one of Jackie Kennedy’s favourite fashion designers in the 1960s. He loved to dress Jackie in raw silk; indeed, this pure silk fabric offered a range of extraordinary colours that were much favoured by the wife of the President of the United States. The designer would sometimes create a wild silk ensemble for occasions such as a day-long cruise on Lake Pichola. Jacqueline Kennedy wore these wild silk dresses with rare elegance, whether travelling or attending cocktail parties on Fifth Avenue. For evening wear, the silks were often hand-embroidered or embellished with tone-on-tone braiding.Embroidery on raw silk is always a magnificent embellishment and made her stand out amongst all the other women.
